A TOUGH JOURNEY
mastering it smoothly
So much reward is offering an awakening journey, however, the path can be rough.
More and more people want their Kundalini to be active and flowing freely in order to upgrade their lives on a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level.
The truth is that most people struggle a lot.
but it’s all about clearing blockages and getting the right amount of energy
Here’s three main components that must be handled for a strong & smooth ascension.
RIGHT AMOUNT OF PRANA
Prana is the sanskrit definition for what we call energy. It’s all that nourishes our energy body.
To better understand this, we must look into the way we eat, breath, sleep, move and connect.

DIET
What we eat determine how much of prana we have in our body. Fruits and vegetables that are fresh and raw have the highest amount of prana.
Tip: Avoid overeating to keep the energy light and flowing.

BREATH
Due to stress, many people have shallow breath which is related to the amount of prana we take in through air. Breath deeply through your belly and spend time in nature with fresh and unpolluted air.
Tip: Practise deep or coherent breathing exercises daily — even 5 minutes can shift your energy.

MOVEMENT
What we hold in our bodies is what directs our subconscious. 80% of the information transported through our system gets from the body to the mind. Moving, shaking, dancing helps to release carried tensions.
Tip: Try practices like yoga, qigong, ecstatic dance, or simple daily stretching to keep energy fluid.

CONNECT
We are social beings living in an overly individualistic society. Connection to others is a key to emotional balance, grounding, compassion, a sense of purpose and the remembrance that we are part of something greater. It’s not only prana sharing, there’s so much more.
Tip: Prioritise meaningful connections. Share meals and deep conversations, be creative, generous and spend time with people who uplift your spirit.
BALANCE… ALWAYS
the balance of ida and pingala nadi to open shushumna

Shushumna is our main energy channel. This nāḍī (energy channels where prâna flows) is the one through which Kundalini energy rises from root to top.
Alongside Shushumna, two secondary channels that spiral around the spine – Ida and Pingala nadi – correspond a lot to the nervous system alongside with other factors.
- Ida (left side) is associated with the lunar, feminine energy and the parasympathetic nervous system.
- Pingala (right side) is linked to the solar, masculine energy and the sympathetic nervous system.
When those two energy channels are balanced, the Sushumna opens, allowing Kundalini to flow upward without obstruction. If one dominates, energy becomes imbalanced — leading to emotional instability, mental fog, or physical discomfort.
to balance Ida and Pingala, practise alternate nostril breathing (Nadi Shodhana) to harmonise the energy flow, maintain a lifestyle with equal space for activity and rest, and cultivate meditation or mindfulness to bring both hemispheres of the brain into harmony /
symmetry.
CLEARING BLOCKAGES
what karma is

Kriya means cleansing method and there can be many ways to do that for the physical, the emotional, the mental and the energetic body.
Karma is what causes blockages within these bodies and prevents a smooth energy flow throughout the system. In this sense, it refers to the energetic imprints and unresolved experiences stored in our different bodies: physical, emotional, mental, and subtle. These blockages can create friction or pain when Kundalini starts to rise.
why it matters ?
Unresolved blockages amplify resistance, which can manifest as pressure, emotional swings, or chaotic energy surges during Kundalini awakening. Clearing them gently allows the energy to rise in a smoother, more stable, and integrated way.
Ways to clear karma:
- Physical: Yogic cleansing techniques (shatkarmas), hot baths, sauna, or bodywork (massage, fascia release) to eliminate toxins and stimulate circulation.
- Emotional: Emotional release practices (EFT), certain breathwork styles, or therapy to process and integrate stored feelings.
- Mental: Targeted meditation, mantra repetition or conscious reframing to dissolve limiting beliefs and mental rigidity.
- Energetic: Reiki, sound healing (chanting, Tibetan bowls), or specific kriya yoga sequences to unlock subtle imprints and restore flow.
“Traumatized people chronically feel unsafe inside their bodies: The past is alive in the form of gnawing interior discomfort. Their bodies are constantly bombarded by visceral warning signs, and, in an attempt to control these processes, they often become expert at ignoring their gut feelings and in numbing awareness of what is played out inside. They learn to hide from their selves.”
